Paladins is a team effort : Written by?James Kniseley and drawn by?House of Imagi collective.

Let’s talk about it !

Hi everyone !

– Where do you come from ??
James: Iowa, United States

House of imagi : Semarang, Indonesia.
– How old are you ??
James: 26
– Influences ??
James: Tolkien, CS Lewis, Harlan Ellison, Naoko Takeuchi, Tales of Series (Most JRPGS lol) Current obsessions that are inspirations: My Hero Academia and Miraculous Ladybug.

House of imagi: Since we are a studio, we have lots of artists with different influences. As for the artists for Paladins, their influences are Tales Series, Fire Emblem, and other RPGs.
– Art school or not ??
House of imagi: Most of our artists didn’t go to art school.
– Favorite digital art software ??
James: I use Scrivner to write. You can do all kinds of formats, and you can keep everything together and not have a million different documents.

House of imagi :PaintTool SAI, Clip Studio Paint, and Adobe Photoshop.
– Your working method ??
James: Does stressing out count as a working method? I’m trying to set a better schedule for writing and getting stuff done. In a perfect world, I’d aim to write for at least an hour a day. As for the comic specifically, I write in script format, then I figure out paneling, then I write it in comic format before I send it off.

House of imagi : This is rather difficult to explain here haha. Please visit our DeviantArt account @houseofimagistudio to see our working method.
– What your webcomic is about, in a symbolic way, the hidden sense ??
James: The main theme behind arc one is desperation. The antagonists aren’t really villains. They are just desperate because they are backed into a corner. They are not proud of what they are doing, but they have exhausted all possible outcomes in their mind.
– Tell us more about your main character, the hero !?
James: Trent is energetic and has an ego. He has a twin brother, Taylor who he gets into different competitions with all the time. He has a friendly and outgoing personality. He likes being the center of attention. He is relaxed and doesn’t take things too seriously. He also enjoys irritating his brother whenever he gets the chance.
– How do you see your future ??
James: Keeping Paladins going. I also have ideas for other comics that I’d like to do one day. I also would like to have my novel series out for people someday as well.

House of imagi: We want to help more people to bring their stories to life. So if you’re a creator who’s currently looking for someone to help you illustrating your story, feel free to drop us a line.
– Your next goal ??
James: My goal is to keep plugging along on Paladins and finish my novel.

House of imagi: In near future, we’re going to expand our business to Japanese market. That includes taking commission from Japanese clients and creating pages in Japanese.

– Advices for beginners ??
James: Just do it. Don’t be afraid of rejection. Just put your best foot forward. You won’t be an overnight celebrity, but keep growing your just. Get active on social media stuff. Talk with people, join chats, and be friendly.

House of imagi: The most important is to put your ideas into actual works, no matter how silly it may seem.

– Your technical secret trick ??
James: Get super cool artists do draw awesome things. Haha
