Hi Chris !

31
– Influences ?
The biggest influences for me in my work is a mixture of both comics and music, so here is a quick list of some of the biggest influences for me
Comics – Jake Parker, Jason Brubaker, Anthony Holden, Brandon Graham, James Stokoe, Skottie Young, J. Scott Campbell, Kevin Cross, Jeffrey Cruz
Music – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, My Chemical Romance, Marilyn Manson, Eminem, Seth Sentry, 360
– Art school or not ?
Self Taught
– Favorite digital art software ?
Clip Studio Paint & Adobe Illustrator
– Your working method ?
I currently work 100% digital, although I love working with traditional tools, mostly tech pens and ink & brush.
But for the sake of time, I am drawing Monkey Junk entirely digital to allow me to speeden up the process.
– What your webcomic is about, in a symbolic way, the hidden sense ?
Monkey Junk is a sci-fi comic set in multiple universes (better known as the infiniverse), all connected by the door dimension. Our main character Jeordie finds himself pulled away from his normal life on Earth, and stuck in another universe, more specifically Future City.
In it’s essence, this is a story about Jeordie trying to find his way back home to his family on his own planet, but along the way, discovers that sometimes,

You can find a family and home in the most unsuspecting of places.

– Tell us more about your main character, the hero !
There are several heroes in this story, the first one being Jeordie, a teenage school kid, who although comes off as shy and reserved, will discover an untapped potential as his journey progresses.
Our next hero, Abby, is a bit of a trouble maker, and makes a career out of hunting monsters all around the infiniverse whilst taking on the evil corporation FutureGlobal Industries who. She is addicted to the energy drink ‘Spizz’ and has a ‘act first, think later’ attitude.
– How do you see your future ?
Monkey Junk is planned to be an ongoing comic, and for it’s future I hope to releasing one new issue every 3 months, if not more if time allows.
– Your next goal ?
Now that Chapter One is finished and ready to be printed, im setting my goals on getting the first story arc printed to bring this book into a trade, the way it was originally intended to be.
Aside from that, I would like to build and expand on the Monkey Junk universe by introducing guest artists to tell more stories that tie in to the main arc, along with a comic strip and maybe some ‘guidebooks’.
It all sounds rather ambitious, but I have a huge love for this story and the characters, and I want to see it do well.
– Advices for beginners ?
Work. Work hard. Nothing comes easy and that applies to comics too. Invest your time to learn and grow as an artist, and keep making comics, no matter how bad you think they are, you will always get better.

You can never learn too much and I think it’s important to want to grow and become better, not only for your craft, but to keep your mind active and more creative.

– Your technical secret trick ?
It’s not so much a trick, than a tip, but save resources that you create.
When working on comics, you will find that you will be drawing some of the same things over and over, like brick walls, lamps, chairs etc.
If you have the capacity to save these items as backups, it will save you alot of time in the future when creating new pages.
– Your favorite quote ?
“Love your family, work super hard, live your passion.”
– Gary Vaynerchuk
