– What your webcomic is about, in a symbolic way, the hidden sense ?
That a woman can be an action hero, a person before she is sexualized, realistic, without on-screen romance and still be a fun/serious/engaging story.
– Tell us more about your main character, the hero !
Colbey is a survivor of the apocalypse searching for her fiance, who vanished the night the world started to end. The world’s death throes took a good few years, and most of the world’s population died due to various causes. Since day 1, has been mostly on her own, forced to become a killer to survive, and the only thing that keeps her going is her mission: Find Peter. Find out What Happened. But she’s now a very a different person than who she was, and the audience is starting to get anxious that the end of the story won’t be a happy one.
– How do you see your future ?
I’m in the 7th year of an 8-year MD/PhD. I’m going to be an EM physician!
– Your next goal ?
Finish What it Takes, kickstart a single volume print run.
– Advices for beginners ?
Starting and not finishing is better than not starting at all. Dig in, have fun, make friends.
– Your technical secret trick ?
I use a lot of white or light lines to carve out the important bits of the art that risk being murky or unintelligible in a comic mostly set in the dark/rain/underground. I find a lot of comics don’t do dark scenes well because they focus on “realism” rather than “readability.”
