In the pure style of the new webcomics generation, here comes Vlamirka and The Golden Wolf by NavyZerimar aka Ivan Ramirez !
Between animation and comic, a nice webvisual way to tell stories.

– Where do you come from ?
Venezuela
– How old are you ?

– Influences ?
I have been inspired by many great works such has video game series like Dragon Age, Metroid, Castlevania and Zelda but I can also point at movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Ghost in the Shell and The Lion King has inspirations; I´ve always loved many of the works by Genndy Tartakovsky growing up like Samurai Jack, Dexter´s Laboratory and The Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series.
– Art school or not ?
I studied animation for 3 years; but most of what I apply in my work is self thought and through online tutorials.
– Favorite digital art software ?
I try to apply both digital and traditional drawing to my work; I like both and don´t really consider one better than the other.
– Your working method ?
I work mainly during the main week days after I return from my job; I also get some work done during the weekends has well although at an slightly less strenuous level. I take my R&R´s mainly in the weekends but I am a big workaholic when it comes to work on the series.
– What your webcomic is about, in a symbolic way, the hidden sense ?
I can´t say I have a “hidden meaning”, The story narrates the tale of Vlamirka Ambers fallowing the end of a destructive war that has separated her from her kin and homeland. Vlamirka meets friends and enemies through her journey but mainly she will discover something about herself… something that´s always been there
– Tell us more about your main character, the hero !
Vlamirka is not perfect; she is young, naive and; has an elf, due to the society she was raised in, she is racist towards humans… however she does have a big heart, she is kind, honest, cheeky, sarcastic and loyal; she is always willing to help and will aways try to avoid fighting other people, always trying to have does who would do harm stand down.
– How do you see your future ?
I don´t think very much about the future of the series has much to how to tell the story in the best possible way, how to move it forward correctly… I know is not much of a “prophetical” response but I think what I´m saying is that I focus more on the present while building the future if that makes sense.
– Your next goal ?
I know I plan to continue working on Vlamirka moving forward; I do have other ideas hovering over my head but I´ll always find time to work on my series.
– Advices for beginners ?
I can say that if you are the type of person who looks at it´s own work and is not satisfied with what they did that means you are definitely a great artist; someone once told me that being able to take criticism from yourself is the best way to improve because you will always aim higher on your goals. Work hard and the always cliche “Never give up!” is a must; it´s easy to be brought down by negativity both in the real life and online but has long has you are honest with yourself, have passion and love what you do, means you are succeeding even if you aren´t seeing immediate results.
– Your technical secret trick ?
Most people work directly in digital but I start in traditional pen and paper; I feel that way I keep better control of what I´m making; for me, digital procedure is to give life to the characters and the world around them.
