Pleased to welcome author and creator Tantz Aerine aka Tanya Maria Geritsidou to talk about Without Moonlight.

An historical fiction webcomic wich deserves attention.

Hello Tanya !
– Where do you come from ?
– How old are you ?
– Influences ?
Herge, Naoki Urasawa, Nobuhiro Watsuki
– Art school or not ?
– Favorite digital art software ?
– Your working method ?
digital from scratch

– What your webcomic is about, in a symbolic way, the hidden sense ?
War is hell, but it brings forth your heart’s true colours. But here’s the summary too: In 1942 Nazi-Occupied Athens, Fotis and his gang of fellow war-stricken friends risk their lives to earn their daily meal, hoping to scrape by until the war ends, if it ends. But when a British agent vital to the success of a mysterious plan by the newly formed Greek Resistance against the Nazis goes missing, the children’s routine is forever disrupted.

– Tell us more about your main character, the hero !
Fotis is a 14-year-old Athenian boy, who leaps on Nazi trucks to steal food to survive and help others survive as well. He’s earnest, sassy, probably foolhardy and in over his head.
– How do you see your future ?
I’ll probably make Without Moonlight’s assorted arcs until I die, as it is a historical fiction I aim to see through from the 1940s, were it is currently, to the 1990s.
– Your next goal ?
Finish Without Moonlight’s first arc. We’re now in Chapter 5, four chapters to go.
– Advices for beginners ?
Just do it, but before you take the plunge, make sure you love it enough to do it for years on end.
– Your technical secret trick ?
I make weird faces in the mirror and I have a ton of reference photos I took for the real life settings and backgrounds in Athen’s historical center.
